API key auth + SCRS

Self-hosted? Still secure.

Odoo's approach to auth is different from the others — we use per-user API keys rather than OAuth. You supply URL, database, username and API key; we encrypt the key at rest with AES-256-GCM, and scope calls to the user's permissions inside Odoo.

SCRS still redacts customer PII before any model sees it, and every call — read or write — is logged to the team's audit trail.

  • Works with self-hosted. If your Odoo runs on your own VPS or private cloud, we connect to your URL over HTTPS.
  • Permissions mirrored. The AI cannot do anything the API-key user can't do in the Odoo UI.
  • Key rotation on demand. Rotate a team member's Odoo key in Other Me's admin without touching Odoo.
  • Audit trail per write. Every lead create, deal update and field write is logged with user, timestamp and payload summary.

Generate an Odoo API key

In Odoo, go to your user preferences → Account Security → New API Key. Name it Other Me.

Enter connection details in Other Me

Settings → Integrations → Odoo. Enter your Odoo URL, database name, username and the API key. We encrypt the key immediately.

Type “show me today's new leads” to confirm the connection works. You're live.

Which Odoo versions are supported?

Odoo 15, 16, 17 and 18 are tested. Earlier versions probably work but aren't officially supported. Both Community and Enterprise editions are fine.

Will it see custom x_studio fields?

Yes. Studio-generated fields on leads, opportunities and contacts are introspected at call time and surfaced to the assistant. You refer to them by label, not technical name.

What about other Odoo modules — invoicing, inventory, HR?

Current release covers CRM (leads, opportunities, contacts). Sales orders, invoicing and inventory modules are on the roadmap. Let us know which modules matter most to you and we'll prioritise by demand.

Does it respect Odoo's record rules?

Yes. The API key executes as the connected user, so Odoo's own record-level security rules apply. A sales rep's assistant only sees the leads that rep would see in the UI.
