Desktop apps you can just install.

Ordinary desktop applications from Pop Hasta Labs. They run on your own machine, they do not ask you to create an account, and they are free. Windows and Linux.

Windows showed me a warning — what do I do?

The Windows installers are signed by Pop Hasta Labs Ltd, so Windows shows our company name rather than “Unknown publisher”. You can check that yourself before running anything: right-click the file, choose Properties, then Digital Signatures.

A signature is not the same as a reputation, though. SmartScreen also counts how many people have installed a particular build, so until a new one has been downloaded enough times some people still see a blue box headed “Windows protected your PC”, saying Microsoft Defender SmartScreen prevented an unrecognised app from starting, with only a Don’t run button showing.

If you get it, this is the way past: click More info, then click Run anyway. Check the publisher says Pop Hasta Labs Ltd first — that is the part worth reading.

Linux builds carry no such signature; your desktop may ask you to mark the file executable before it will run.
