Is Other Me approved by the DfE?
Other Me is not a DfE-listed tool. We are a commercial AI platform that aligns with safeguarding guidance including KCSIE and the Age Appropriate Design Code. Schools evaluate us through our pilot programme and make their own adoption decisions based on their due diligence process.
Do you have a safeguarding policy we can review?
Yes. We can provide our safeguarding policy, data processing agreement, and privacy impact assessment on request. Email schools@pophastalabs.com and we will send these to your DSL or data protection officer.
Can teachers see what students are asking?
Yes. The teacher dashboard provides visibility into usage patterns, topic areas, and engagement metrics. Individual conversation content is summarised rather than exposed verbatim, balancing oversight with student privacy.
How is student data handled?
Student data is processed in UK/EU data centres under GDPR. We do not sell student data, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties. Data retention and deletion policies are available on request. We can sign a data processing agreement with your school.
What devices do students need?
Other Me works in any modern web browser on desktop, laptop, tablet, or mobile. No app installation is required. It works on school-managed Chromebooks, iPads, and Windows devices.
Does Other Me replace teachers?
No. Other Me is a Socratic tutoring tool that supports independent thinking. It asks guiding questions rather than giving direct answers, reinforcing what teachers do in the classroom. It is designed to complement teaching, not replace it.
Can parents opt their child out?
Yes. Parental consent is part of the onboarding process. Parents can opt out at any time, and student accounts can be deactivated immediately on request.
